VANCOUVER (Mar. 9, 2011) — Shopping center developers and managers attending the Western Canada Business Forum (PDF) will have the opportunity to learn how storytelling can help them improve shopper and tenant experiences, from Bill Baker, founder of and strategic storyteller at BB&Co. Attendees will learn how to use storytelling to imagine future experiences for shoppers and tenants and then focus, align and inspire their internal teams to create those experiences.
The session, titled “Strategic Storytelling: Using the Power of Storytelling to Transform Brands, Businesses & The Company You Keep,” runs from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. on Mar 23. The forum, sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers, runs from Mar. 21-23 at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, Kananaskis, Alberta.
“The way people shop has changed dramatically over the past decade, with more and more people buying things online,” says Baker. “Accordingly, developers and managers of shopping centers have to rethink not only the experience of shopping centers, but also the stories that shoppers are telling about the experiences they have.”
A recognized expert on the strategic storytelling process and an engaging speaker, Baker has appeared at The Canadian Sponsorship Forum, Canadian Coaching Association Conference and the Relais & Châteaux Congress.
Through his “Leadership Through Storytelling” course, Baker also teaches top executives of Fortune 500 companies how to use storytelling to be better communicators and, as a result, better leaders. He also writes and blogs frequently on strategic storytelling and related topics.
